The Vision for Middle School Youth Ministry at St. Margaret Mary parish is rooted in and grows from the Good News of our Risen Lord. Our mission is to help deepen young people’s relationship with Jesus Christ, empower them to live as disciples of Jesus in our world today, draw young people to participate in the life of the Catholic faith community, and foster the total personal growth of each young person by providing developmentally appropriate experiences, activities, and content that address the unique developmental and social needs of young adolescents.

2STRONG YOUTH GROUP NIGHTS
This is a night of faith, fellowship, & fun! We meet Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Youth Room
8th graders will meet every other Wednesday and 6th & 7th graders will also meet every other Wednesday.

Each Wednesday night we will begin with “The Hang Out” where we eat pizza and get to know each other through conversation and icebreakers. Then we will move to “The Challenge” where we are participating in active learning activities which build community. Then we will do “The Work” where we will explore issues of faith through small-faith group sharing. ALL middle school youth are encouraged to come for a fabulous night of food, fellowship, and fun! This night is our building block for all of our other activities, it is important for kids to build relationships with other young Catholics and this is the night to do it!

Once a month all 6th 7th & 8th graders are invited to youth group for a night of dodgeball.

2STRONG SUNDAY FOCUS
Sunday Focus is a faith formation class for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders that meets Sundays after the 9:30 mass from 10:45-11:45am. The program offers a comprehensive overview of the Catholic faith that is correlated with the four parts, or pillars, of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We are so fortunate to have an engaging curriculum specifically suited for middle school- aged children, St. Mary’s Press Catholic Connections.

2STRONG SUNDAY CAFE
Once a month Sunday Focus students will gather after class from 11:45-12:45pm for food and fellowship. Sunday Cafe is a fun community building time for all who attend Sunday Focus.

2STRONG SERVICE
Throughout the school year, middle school students have the opportunity to put their faith into action by participating in 2 monthly service opportunities, Coalition for the Homeless & Gleaning for the Poor.

We need volunteers to help with our SMM Thanksgiving Store & Christmas Store. Check out our Calendar for dates.

Summer Opportunities -

LABOR OF LOVE. During the summer, on Saturday mornings, middle school students have the opportunity to help those parishioners who are unable to keep up with yard work or need help de-cluttering their home because they can no longer do it themselves.

CATHOLIC HEART WORKCAMP. In the summer of 2011 incoming 8th graders who are eligible to attend will go on a week long service mission to Charlotte, NC. For more details and what you need to do to be eligible check out our middle school service page

2STRONG SOCIAL EVENTS
Throughout the school year there are social fun events that are opened to all of our St. Margaret Mary middle school parishioners and their middle school friends.
