Picnic Under the Stars

Gather TogetherWhat are you doing for Lent?

It's an annual question for which some of us have the same answer every year, and some of us like to change our Lenten discipline every year.

Well here's an opportunity to do something new, that can truly center you and your family on this sacred Seson of Lent, while also sharing it in a powerful way with our Parish Community.

Join us at 6pm to share a simple Lenten meal with others. Everyone is bringing their own simple meal. Bread LoafMaybe it's beans and rice or tuna fish, or even fast food fish sandwhiches. Whatever you choose for yourself or your family, the purposefulness in which we approach this meal emphasizes the importance of this Lenten discipline of fasting and abstinence.

Jesus

Process with our community into the church for stations of the Cross at 7pm. We will be lead with reflective song into the church, where we engage in another Lenten discipline, prayer, through the seasonal ritual of the stations of the cross. This year the stations are being lead by volunteer families committed to engage fully into this spiritually lifting practice.

Engage in the beautiful music of Sarah Sarah HartHart in the free concert at 8pm. Through music we also have the opportunity to celebrate, pray and reflect on the meaning of this Lenten season. When you listen to the music of Sarah Hart, you’ll immediately hear the lively blend of folk and pop rooted in the tradition of the great singer-songwriters of our time. Her music and message both welcome and delight listeners from every age and background. She shares her love for God, and relates her words and heart to us with deep sincerity.

Bring dinner, chairs, picnic items, and an expectation to take away something very special from this unique and exceptional opportunity.
