The Lazarus Summer Meals program supports families living in the Lee Road hotels. Volunteers can sign up for Meal Preparation, Meal Pick-Up/Distribution, or Hotel Distribution Support Monday-Thursday, starting June 8 through July 16. Those interested in preparing meals should attend a 45-minute kitchen training session on June 5 at 11 am in the SMM kitchen. Those who received kitchen training previously do not need to attend.
We welcome Teen Volunteers. Teen Volunteers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Meal Preparation: Meal prep starts in the SMM Kitchen at 11:30 am to have meals ready for pick-up at 1:00 pm. If you have not had experience in the SMM Kitchen, please sign up for Kitchen Training on June 5, as well.
Meal Pick-up & Distribution: Volunteers pick up meals at 1:00 pm from the SMM kitchen and meet Eatonville Neighborhood Center for Families staff by 1:30 pm at the hotel for distribution from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.
- Mon/Wed meals are delivered to Lee Gardens Hotel (830 Lee Rd.)
- Tue/Thurs meals are delivered to Countryside Inn and Suites (606 Lee Rd.).
Hotel Distribution Support - Distribution Support Volunteers can go directly to the hotel by 1:30 pm to meet the other SMM volunteer and ENCF staff for meal distribution from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.
