Promises of the Sacred Heart: Promise 7

Jesus loves us passionately! It was with great passion that He came to earth, became man, and suffered and died for our sins. Tepid or lukewarm love would have never gotten the job done, would it?  It would not, and Jesus knows it! That is why in Revelation 3:16 we are told that God would prefer to spit out of his mouth those who are lukewarm in their response to Him. Yes, we are constantly called to communion with Christ through fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters, reflection on Holy Scripture, and even the taking into our bodies of the very Body and Blood of Christ at Holy Mass. By this pouring out of Himself to his beloved followers, Jesus shows us the path to fervent love and models the selfless giving that this type of love entailsAs we ponder the promises of The Sacred Heart of Jesus, we can be sure of one thing. Jesus loves us! Jesus proved it by emptying himself completely for us. How can we show Our fervent love for him? By a passionate response to His love. We can fervently love our brothers and sisters and demonstrate it by our actions. We should always aspire to approach Jesus in the Eucharist with the humble awe of a child! In these challenging times in which the world hungers for the  fervent love of Christ, may we make present to them the promises of His most Sacred Heart by our loving actions and through passionate response to the love that He continues to show for us!
